At BuzzGage, we are committed to protecting the privacy and data of students, educators, and school leaders around the world. As a platform designed for educational environments, we uphold the highest standards in safeguarding personal information—especially when it relates to children and young people.

This policy outlines how we collect, process, and secure data in full compliance with international privacy regulations, including but not limited to:

As part of our commitment to ethical and responsible data use in education, we align our practices with global standards for student data privacy, child protection, and school compliance. We continuously review and update our policies to reflect evolving legal requirements and best practices in educational technology.

1. Data Collection & Processing

For Students (Anonymous & Confidential Data Collection)

  • What We Collect: BuzzGage collects anonymized student responses to measure factors across three core dimensions: Cognitive, Emotional, and Behavioral.

  • How We Use It: Data is analyzed to generate insights that help schools enhance student learning experiences.

  • Privacy & Security: All student responses remain anonymous. BuzzGage does not collect personal identifiers such as names, emails, or student IDs.

For Schools & Administrators (Account & Data Management)

  • Account Information: BuzzGage collects essential data to manage school profiles while keeping school identities anonymous. Even the school name is not stored, ensuring privacy while providing meaningful insights.

  • Data Insights: Schools receive aggregated and anonymized insights based on student responses.

​

  • Compliance Responsibility: Schools are responsible for obtaining necessary parental consent where required by local laws.

2. Legal Basis for Data Processing

BuzzGage collects and processes data under the following lawful bases:

  • Legitimate Interest: To provide insights that support student success.

  • Parental Consent: Required for students under 18, managed by the school.

​

  • Contractual Necessity: Schools agree to the processing of data for analytical purposes.

3. Data Rights & Ownership

Only Schools Have the Right to Access, or Delete Data.

  • Access: Schools can request access to insights of their account data.

​

  • Deletion Requests: Schools can request deletion of data by contacting mc@buzzgage.org.

​

  • Student Rights: Students' responses are anonymized, and BuzzGage does not store personal student data.

4. Data Retention & Storage

  • School data is stored securely and retained for the duration of the school’s active account.

  • Schools may request data deletion at any time, in which case all associated data will be permanently removed.​

​

5. Data Security & International Transfers

  • Encryption & Protection: All collected data is encrypted in transit and at rest to prevent unauthorized access.
     

  • Storage & Processing: BuzzGage uses secure infrastructure, which may store data outside the US, EU, and Turkey.
     

  • Cross-Border Compliance: Data transfers outside the US, EU, or Turkey are conducted under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and other required safeguards.

6. Third-Party Sharing & Integrations

  • BuzzGage does not sell or share personal data with third parties.

  • Data is processed securely using global storage infrastructure.

7. Parental Consent & School Responsibility

  • Schools are responsible for ensuring compliance with local parental consent laws before students participate in feedback sessions.​

​

  • BuzzGage provides tools to support compliance with GDPR, KVKK, and other regulations.
